He was born in Moscow, in a family of Spanish immigrants. His father, a journalist by profession, was the head of a communist newspaper in Spain.
He studied at a Russian school, on his father's advice (Spain needed to be built) he graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute, however, his journalistic genes took their toll - in the last years of his return to Spain (after the death of dictator Franco in 1977, the family returned to his homeland), he worked in the Latin American branch of Russian Radio. In Spain, no one needed his aviation engineering (there was no aviation industry in the country), and when he was invited to one of the leading banks (due to his good education and close ties with Russia), he did not refuse. After completing his internship, he was transferred to the Relations Development Department, and after opening a representative office in Moscow, he was the first representative of the Spanish bank in Russia, where he spent 20 years. He believes that his bank has made a great contribution to the formation of the Russian banking system. Today, Mr. Simora is the director of the Russian division of the Spanish bank Santander, which is the fifth largest in Europe and the tenth largest in the world in terms of revenue.
