Abstract

The problems of economic growth and development remained as acute and relevant as 27 years ago, when Georgia declared its independence and embarked on the path of building a new state based on fundamentally different economic principles. The article examines the evolution of the theoretical concept of development economics and its impact on the economies of developing countries. The article substantiates the need for a transition to a new concept of economic development.
